Let us begin by remembering that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Our weapons are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, and our thoughts are where this battle often takes place.
As it is written in 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB
"casting down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"
And in Romans 12:2 WEB:
"Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved individual who seeks happy thoughts. First, we ask for the forgiveness of their sins, and if they have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, then we pray that today is the day of salvation. As it is written, if you will "confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Father, we ask that You help them bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Fill their mind with thoughts that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable, thoughts that are excellent and worthy of praise as instructed in Philippians 4:8 WEB.
Guide them to the knowledge that in Your presence is fullness of joy, and at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11 WEB). Let them rejoice in the Lord, for You, O Lord, have done marvelous things (Psalm 98:1 WEB)!
In Jesus' name, we rebuke any spirits of sadness, negativity, or anxiety that may be oppressing this individual. We claim victory over these thoughts through the power of Jesus Christ, who has overcome the world.
Thank You, Father, for Your love and faithfulness. We trust that You will fill their heart with joy in Your presence.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, to the person who requested prayers, please make sure to spend time meditating in God's Word. If you do not have a Bible please go to a Christian bookstore and get one. We recommend the World English Bible translation. Also, make sure to spend time in prayer, worship, and thanksgiving to God.
