We understand that you're feeling anxious and dreading going into work today. First, let's remember what the Scripture says about the name Jesus. God raised him from the dead and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth Philippians 2:9-10 WEB. So the name Jesus is powerful.
Let's address the anxiety. The Bible tells us, "Don't be anxious for anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 WEB. So, instead of being anxious, let's turn this over to God together.
Let's also remember that work is a blessing from God. Even Jesus himself said: "My Father is still working, so I am working, too." John 5:17 WEB. Colossians 3:23-24 WEB reminds us, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ." So your work done is a service for the Lord.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your grace and mercy upon our friend here. We ask that you take away all anxiety and dread about going into work today.
We pray for God to provide the strength needed for the job. May it be a productive and peaceful day, with God's favor and grace evident in every task. We ask for God's blessings today, trusting that you will be with us, guiding our path, and providing a good day at work.
Father, we also pray for a greater revelation of who Jesus is today. May the knowledge of his name and power become more real as we trust in him.
We trust that you will help us to work with joy and gratitude, and as a service for the Lord.
