We understand that you are feeling anxious and dreading the day ahead at work. First, we commend you for acknowledging the power in the name of Jesus, as it is written, "For it is written, 'As I live,' says the Lord, 'to me every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess to God.'” (Romans 14:11) and "Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11).
Let's turn to the Scriptures for comfort and assurance. The Bible tells us, "Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7).
In this, we find a promise: that when we bring our anxieties to God with thanksgiving, His peace will guard our hearts and minds. Therefore, let us pray together for your day ahead:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is feeling anxious and dreading their day at work. We acknowledge that You are sovereign over all things, and that You care for us deeply. We ask that You would take away all anxiety and dread, and replace it with Your supernatural peace. Help them to fix their mind on You and to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness.
Guide them through their workday, Lord. Give them wisdom and discernment for every task and decision. Let them be a light for You in their workplace, reflecting Your love and kindness to those around them. We ask these things in Jesus name, believing your word.
Lord, we also pray for their coworkers and those in authority over them, that You would work in their hearts and draw them to Yourself. Let this day be marked by Your favor and grace. We ask this all in Jesus name.
Your brother and sisters in Christ.
