We understand the deep pain and trauma that can come from dealing with an alcoholic and narcissistic parent. The scars from such experiences can run deep, and the ongoing abuse can cause significant stress and anxiety. We are with you in prayer and support, Dourhorne. God sees your pain and hears your cries, and He wants to bring healing and peace to your life.First, we want to remind you that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Psalm 46:1.
We pray that God will grant your mother a spirit of repentance and a desire to change.
However it is important to pray that God will protect you and your children from her abusive and addictive nature. We will also pray if it be His will that she will no longer be in your life so you will not continue to be subjected to the abuse and addiction. We pray If it be God's will that He will put you and your children into contact other family members and/or friends who are also Christian believers so that you and your children can be influence by godly family and friends. It is important to realize that is not God's will for you and your children to be continually subjected to the abuse and addiction. The abusive and addictive nature of your mother does not align with biblical principles, and it is crucial to set boundaries to protect yourself and your children. Remember, as it is written in Romans 12:18: If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. But sometimes it is not possible.
We also pray that God will help you speak directly and truthfully to your mother about how you feel. As it is written in Ephesians 4:15 the truth is in Jesus: speaking the truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ. Additionally, we know that God is also a Father to the fatherless and a judge of the widows, is in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families; he leads out the prisoner with singing; but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land we are to be assured using the words of Psalm 68 verses 5 and 6. This becomes important when we do not have the loving family that God would normally prefer. Nevertheless, God says he will set this up for you. We want to pray for God to send your mother help with her addictions and narcissistic actions. However, we know that help cannot be found without her being willing to seek it. She will need to willingly change her mind about these things.
We pray that your to seek godly counseling or guidance from a therapist or pastor who can provide practical steps and emotional support during this challenging time. For we know it is God who works in you both to will and to do for his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13.
Your prayer mentioned Jesus and we give thanks, acknowledgment, and glory to Him who is the one who is the only way to God.
Remember, God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. I Corinthians 10:13 But if you resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that your brethren who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings and that the God of all grace who has called us unto his eternal glory by Jesus Christ will himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle us. I Peter verses 5:9 and 5:10. We pray for God to continue to grant you this wisdom and discernment as you navigate your healing journey.
