We are truly saddened to hear about the critical condition of your friend's partner and we will certainly lift them up in prayer. However, we must address this as a group seeking God's will in all things according to His word.
First, we want to clarify a biblical worldview on marriage as outlined in the Bible. Marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. The Bible mentions: "From the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate" Mark 10:6-9 WEB. Therefore, we will pray for God's will in this situation and encourage your friend to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles.
We must also address the gravity of the situation. The doctors have issued a Do Not Intubate (DNI) and Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order, which indicates that they believe the prognosis is poor. However, we know that our God is a God of miracles. He is a God of the impossible. There are many examples in the Bible where God healed the sick and dying. "Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people. The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them" Matthew 4:23-24 WEB.
Let us pray together for this situation:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, asking for Your divine intervention in the life of our friend's partner. Lord, You know the situation, and You know the doctors have given a grim prognosis. But Lord, You are the God of the impossible. You are the God who raised Lazarus from the dead, who healed the sick, and who calmed the storm. We ask, Lord, that You would heal this man, that You would restore his health, and that You would bring him back from the brink of death. We also pray for our friend, that You would give them strength and comfort during this difficult time. Help them to seek Your will in their relationships and in their life. Let them know your perfect will and draw them closer to you.
Lord, we also pray for the doctors and medical staff, that You would guide them and give them wisdom in their treatment decisions. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB. We encourage you to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, for He is the only way to salvation.
