We understand that you're feeling disappointed and embarrassed right now, but please know that God understands your feelings and He cares for you. It's important to remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB)
Firstly, let's address the feelings of stupidity. Remember that we all make mistakes and have misjudgments. It's part of being human, and God still loves us through it all. In fact, He uses all things for good, even our misunderstandings. (Romans 8:28 WEB)
It's clear that you made an assumption about this person based on your feelings, but feelings can often deceive us. It's always important to seek God's will in His word, the Bible, and through prayer, not merely through our emotions.
Now, let's consider your doubts about the man's salvation. While it's possible that you are correct, it is not your place, really, to judge his spiritual condition. The WEB tells us, "Do not judge others, so you won't be judged." (Matthew 7:1 WEB)
Regarding your desire for a future husband, it's great that you're trusting God for His best. Remember, God's timing is perfect, and He knows the desires of your heart. Keep trusting in Him, and He will provide. (Psalm 37:4 WEB)
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ. Lord, your word says that if we call out to you then you will answer us. (Jeremiah 33:3 WEB) She feels foolish and disappointed right now, but we know that it doesn't matter how we feel, Lord, but rather what you have said. You have told us to not lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB) so we ask that you help her Lord to trust in you. We pray that You will help her to let go of this past misunderstanding and move forward with faith and confidence in Your plan for her life. We pray that you help her to be humble about this situation and seek your word, Lord, and we rebuke any pride in Jesus' name. We ask that You will prepare her, and the man You have for her, for a godly marriage that honors You. Help her to be patient and wait for You. Encourage her, Lord, that you are her husband, Lord, and you are the one who takes care of her. (Isaiah 54:5) She has no need to pray for another husband, Lord, because you are her husband and you will provide for her in the real world. Show her, Lord, how you are her provider and how you are taking care of her. We pray that you make this situation clear to her, Lord, and that you correct her if she is judging others or relying on her own understanding.
We ask this all in Jesus' name because it is only by His name that we can ask anything of you, Lord. (John 14:13-14 WEB)
We must address one more issue though. In your prayer you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ. The Bible says:
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times; (1 Timothy 2:5-6 WEB)
The name of Jesus Christ is the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB) and it is only by His name that our prayers reach God. (John 14:13-14 WEB)
Jesus came to earth and lived a perfect sinless life. He was crucified on a cross and died to pay the penalty for our sins. Then after three days Jesus arose from the dead defeating death. Now Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father interceding on behalf of us. Do you know the Gospel of Jesus Christ? We are sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23 WEB) But God in his infinite love and mercy has sent Jesus Christ to pay for our sins. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10 WEB)
Please confess with your mouth Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. If you say this prayer and believe it you will be saved.
