I posted the following request previously. My granddaughter still has not been arraigned although she was arrested about 7 months ago in the early part of December. Arraignment was scheduled for April but postponed due to COVID-19. She had requested a court-appointed attorney at her bail hearing. But, has been told she can't talk to the lawyer until her arraignment and she has no idea when that will be. She cannot afford a lawyer so has no clue what might or will happen to her.
Pray that my 17 year old granddaughter would have legal charges greatly reduced or dropped. Her mother's boyfriend punched her in the face a couple of months ago. Because he was arrested; he and her mother set her up to be arrested a couple of weeks later. My granddaughter was finally removed from the home and her father now has custody in another state. She has PTSD from long-term emotional, mental, and physical abuse. However, her mother keeps lying to cover for the boyfriend and for some reason the charges against the boyfriend get swept under the carpet. Since moving out of her mother's home she is doing better; but, still under major stress due to the PTSD and the fact she can't speak to a court appointed attorney until arraignment in April. She cannot figure out how or why her mother would lie for her boyfriend and set her up for jail time. Please pray for her present and future and that she comes to trust Jesus. This is her first offense.
