Prayers for fighting my addiction

I am struggling with an addiction. Any and all prayers will be greatly appreciated in my battle against it. God bless.

We are with you in spirit and in prayer as you battle against this addiction. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1 WEB.

Firstly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is in His name that we can approach God and it is in His name that we can find forgiveness from our sins which is the first step in overcoming any addiction. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB.

In this battle, know that God is faithful to provide a way out because He promises us in the WEB:

No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB.

As well as praying for you, we urge you to take practical steps to overcome this addiction. Seek godly counsel and support from fellow believers. Be open to their guidance and rebuke, as iron sharpens iron Proverbs 27:17 WEB.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ who is struggling with addiction. We know that this battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 WEB.

We pray that You will strengthen him through Your Holy Spirit, giving him the power to overcome this addiction. Surround him with Your love and protection, and guide him to supportive believers who can walk alongside him in this journey.

Help him to know that You are trustworthy and can forgive him if he asks for your forgiveness. Heal him and give him a new life with a new heart and a right spirit. Help him to have the strength and will to put aside this addiction.

Lord, we also pray for his heart. Help him to understand his weaknesses and to turn to You in his times of need. Give him discernment to recognize the triggers of his addiction and the wisdom to avoid them.

We ask all this in Jesus' name, who gave Himself for our sins that He might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father Galatians 1:4.

Finally, we also pray that you will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your heart. We pray that you would have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge with the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:16-19 WEB.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap, lifting you up in prayer. We know the struggle is real, but remember, we serve a real God who's bigger than any addiction. We're not just fighting for victory, we're fighting from victory, because of what Jesus has already done for us.

We want to encourage you, brother, to keep seeking God's face. He's not surprised by your struggle, and He's not far off. He's right there with you, every step of the way. In fact, He promises in His word, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5)

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, interceding for our brother who's battling addiction. Lord, You know his struggle, You know his pain. We ask that You would strengthen him, fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and give him the power to overcome this addiction. Help him to know Your unfailing love, Your unending forgiveness. Help him to see that with You, he can do all things.

Lord, we also pray for his heart. Give him wisdom to recognize the triggers, and the strength to avoid them. Help him to understand his weaknesses, and to turn to You in his times of need.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We thank You for Your promise to never leave nor forsake us. We thank You for the victory we have in Jesus' name.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You. Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
