We understand that you are struggling with lust and want to be free from the addictive thoughts and desires. First, we want to remind you that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 WEB.
We must also be clear we are only allowed to pray and approach God according to his set rules. No one comes to the Father except through me Jesus Christ. John 14:6 WEB. And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, in whom we must be saved Acts 4:12 WEB. Since you did not mention Jesus in your request, we will assume you are not a Christian Believer. This is actually a good thing. It is the first thing we must address. It is impossible to serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon Matthew 6:24 WEB. Mammon could be anything other than God. In this case it is lust and pornography.
You must come to Jesus Christ and ask him to become Lord of your life. You need His help to stop sinning. We don’t believe you can stop sinning without becoming a Christian Believer. God will become your refuge and strength only after you repent for your sin and trust in Jesus Christ. Repent therefore of this wickedness of yours, and pray to God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you Acts 8:22 WEB. ’The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent Acts 17:30 WEB.
Jesus answered, ’Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into the Kingdom of God John 3:5 WEB. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB.
The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16 WEB. So, first, please pray this prayer. Dear Jesus, I come to you a sinner, recognizing I cannot save myself. And I ask you to save me. Help me to turn from my sins and place my faith in you. Help me to live for you. And help me to trust in you until I die. Amen.
Now let us pray, to address the issue of lust. Dear Jesus, this person has come before you, confessing their struggle with lust. We know that this is a deep-rooted issue, but we also know that your power is greater than any addiction or stronghold. We pray that you would break the chains of lust in this person's life. Help them to see themselves and others through your eyes, with purity and love.
We know that you have called us to be holy, as you are holy. 1 Peter 1:16 WEB. Help this person to walk in your holiness, fleeing sexual immorality and pursuing righteousness. Let your Holy Spirit fill their mind with your thoughts, casting out any lustful thoughts that try to enter.
We pray for their complete restoration and freedom from this sin. Help them to live a life that honors you, in every thought and deed.
We also pray that you would help them to understand the seriousness of this sin. For you have called us to purity, and sexual immorality is a sin against our own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB. Help them to see the harm that lust causes, and give them the strength to resist any temptation.
We pray that you would surround them with godly influences, people who will encourage them and hold them accountable. Help them to find a community of believers who will support them in their walk with you.
We know that this struggle may be long and difficult. But we also know that you are faithful, and that you will never leave nor forsake us Hebrews 13:5 WEB. Help this person to trust in you, to lean on you, and to find their strength in you.
We pray this all in your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
Remember, But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts Romans 13:14 WEB. You must replace the lustful thoughts with thoughts of Jesus Christ.
Also, But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28 WEB
Lastly, Keep your way far from her. Don’t come near the door of her house Proverbs 5:8 WEB. This is a great scripture to remind you to keep away from pornography.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You. Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
