We are so glad to join you in prayer and to help you discern God's will for your life. It is commendable that you are at peace with being single and seeking God's will in your relationship with this Christian man and that you have submitted this situation to God. We stand with you in Jesus' name. We need to be alert and sober minded, for your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Firstly, it is important to remember that God's will is for us to be holy and blameless, living lives that honor Him. As you consider this relationship, keep in mind that marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman, designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church. If you are a Christian Believer, God may have a godly spouse for you. If this is true, it should be a relationship where both of you are yoked together in Jesus Christ.
It is wise to be aware of the tendency to over-romanticize, as it can lead to disappointment and heartache. Remember, love is patient, love is kind, and is not selfish. It does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away, but love never ends.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who seeks Your will for her life and her relationship with this Christian man. Grant her discernment and wisdom, Lord, to make the right choices and to honor You in all she does. Help her to be patient, to seek Your face, and to trust in Your timing.
We also lift up this man, Lord. We pray for his discernment and wisdom, and that he would walk closely with You. We ask that You would guide both of them, giving them clarity and direction as they seek Your will.
Help them both to grow in their faith, to deepen their relationship with You, and to live lives that are pleasing to You. Protect them from temptation, Lord, and deliver them from evil.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Psalm 32:8, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you.
As you seek God's will, trust in Him with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Finally, we leave you with the words of Philippians 4:6-7, Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
