We understand your concern and desire for your child's academic success and we are here to pray and offer guidance. Firstly, it's important to remember that our petitions to God should be in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB:
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
And in John 16:23 WEB:
Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear child to You. Lord, we ask that You guide them through this college process, and grant them the wisdom and discernment to make the right choices. We pray that You would instill in them a love for learning and a desire to excel in their studies. Help them stay away from temptations and pursue a career that aligns with Your will for their life.
Father, we also pray for the parents, that You would grant them patience, wisdom, and understanding as they support their child during this time. Help them to be a source of encouragement and guidance, pointing their child towards You in all things.
Lord, we know that forming a good study habit is key to success. We pray that the child will have a heart to do this. We pray that you convict the child to desire excellence. We know that success is a blessing. However, we also pray that you reveal to the child your calling, even if it is not what the child has chosen to study. We pray that your will be fulfilled in the child's life. We pray that you fill the child with the Holy Spirit and the child gets saved if they have not already. We ask for this in Jesus name.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to support and encourage your child in their studies, reminding them that their ultimate goal should be to glorify God in all that they do.
Colossians 3:23 WEB:
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.
We also encourage your child to seek God's will for their life, trusting that He has a plan and a purpose for them.
Jeremiah 29:11 WEB:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
