We are with you in prayer, interceding on your behalf to our merciful and loving God. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging and seeking help for the sin you are struggling with. Remember, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". (1 John 1:9 WEB)
God is faithful, and He will provide a way out of temptation. As the Apostle Paul wrote, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB)
We pray that God will strengthen you and fill you with His Holy Spirit, so that you may overcome this sin of pornography, which is lust of the flesh. "For I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh." (Galatians 5:16 WEB) Be bold and courageous. We have a great resource for accountability software called Covenant Eyes. It will be beneficial to use this software to block pornography websites and allow an accountability partner to review activity. This software is mentioned for your encouragement. Covenant Eyes will allow you to live porn free.
Regarding your father's alcoholism, we pray that God will touch his heart and bring conviction upon him, leading him to repentance and deliverance. "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." (James 5:13-16 WEB)
We encourage you to be patient, loving, and supportive towards your father, trusting that God is at work in his life. Your father needs to make a decision to seek help. A Bible believing church will be able to provide counseling. You can not force your father to make this decision.
In all things, remember to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are saved. "In him we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him." (Ephesians 3:12 WEB)
Father in heaven, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with the sin of pornography. We ask that you strengthen them, fill them with your Holy Spirit, and help them overcome this temptation. We also pray for their father, that you would set him free from alcoholism and bring healing and restoration to their family. We pray for both of their salvation and their complete surrender to You. This we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We are encouraged by your prayer request and pray God's will in Jesus' name.
