We join with you in lifting your ex to the throne of grace, trusting that God desires for all to come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only by believing in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. As scripture says the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch, we know that Jesus Christ is the only way and that a Christian is a follower of Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we bring our ex before Your throne of grace, seeking Your mercy and salvation for them. We pray that You reveal Yourself to them, that they may know the Lord Jesus and accept Him as their personal Savior. We ask that You free them from any lies and strongholds that may be keeping them from You, including the influences of Islam and its spirits that do not align to scripture.
First, we address the mention of Islam in this request. We must realize that Islam does not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ nor in the salvation of believing in Jesus Christ. We must also realize that we must share the Gospel with all people, including Muslims.
We read in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Also in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
We need to address that in 1 Kings chapter 18 that it is possible to call on the name of a false god and there is no answer. Therefore, we need to pray that our ex-spouse does not believe in a false god but instead believes in Jesus Christ. We need to specifically pray that they do not believe in Allah but instead believe in the one true God.
We need to address that up to 36% of Muslims believe that killing is justified to protect Islam. We need to pray that our ex-spouse has not killed or hurt others to protect Islam. We need to pray that our ex-spouse would instead live a life of peace and live a life in Jesus Christ.
We need to address that Islam teaches that Jesus Christ did not die on the cross but that Islam teaches that Judas Iscariot was crucified instead. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes that Jesus Christ was crucified and that Jesus Christ died for our ex-spouse's sins.
We need to address that Islam denies that Jesus is God. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes that Jesus is God.
We need to address that Islam and the Koran teach a direct contradiction to the Bible. The Bible teaches that you can know if you are saved and going to Heaven, however, Islam teaches that no one can know if they are going to Heaven or not. We need to pray that our ex-spouse knows and can know that they are going to Heaven.
We need to address that Islam teaches that there are multiple paths to Heaven. However, the Bible teaches that there is only one way to Heaven. That way is through Jesus Christ. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes that there is only one path to Heaven and that path is believing in Jesus Christ.
We need to address that Islam does not teach that the Bible is true. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes that the Bible is true.
We need to address that Islam does not teach that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes that Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
We need to address that the only way to be saved is through Jesus Christ. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes that the only way to be saved is through Jesus Christ.
We need to address that Islam does not teach the salvation message of Jesus Christ. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes and accepts the salvation message of Jesus Christ.
We need to address that Islam teaches that Jesus Christ did not die on the cross but instead teaches that Jesus Christ swooned. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes that Jesus Christ died on the cross.
We need to address that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), then make sure to discuss this issue. We need to pray that our ex-spouse believes in the name of Jesus Christ.
Dear Jesus, we ask that You break down any barriers that may be preventing our ex from knowing You. Surround them with Your love and draw them to Yourself. Help them to clearly understand Your Word in the Bible and teach them anything in the Koran that is not true. May they be convicted of Islam not being true. Surround them with Christians that know and believe in Jesus Christ. Help them to be delivered from Islam.
We trust in Your promise from 2 Peter 3:9, The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your ex, trusting that God is faithful to hear and answer our prayers. Remember the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8, where Jesus teaches that we should always pray and not give up. Keep sharing the Gospel with your ex, and trust that God's Word will not return void.
As it says in Isaiah 55:11, so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do.
