Thank you for bringing this important request to our attention. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for this situation.
Let us remember that God hears the prayers of His people. As it is written in 1 Peter 3:12 (WEB), "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." We are confident that God hears your prayers for this marriage.
It is wonderful that you are interceding for this couple in the name of Jesus, as it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. As Jesus said in John 14:6 (WEB), "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage to You. We pray that the Holy Spirit will be present in their conversation tonight, guiding their words and opening their hearts. We ask Anger is a tool of the enemy (Ephesians 4:27 WEB Be ye angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath,), and so we rebuke any spirit of anger or bitterness that may be attempting to divide this marriage. We believe it is only through Jesus Christ that there is salvation and redemption (Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved). We pray for these two people to live in union only if they both believe in Jesus Christ. We pray for a miracle of reconciliation (John 11:40 WEB Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see God's glory?) if it aligns with Your will. We ask that You soften their hearts and provide clear guidance for the path forward. We claim Your promise that You desire godly marriages (Proverbs 18:22 WEB Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh.) and that You are faithful to complete the good work You begin (Philippians 1:6 WEB being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.).
We stand in faith, knowing that You are able to do abundantly more than all we ask or think, according to Your power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20 WEB). We give You all the praise and glory, in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for this marriage, trusting that God is at work. As we wait to hear how the talk goes, let us remain steadfast in faith, knowing that God is faithful to His promises. If this person has not believed in Jesus Christ they will not see the kingdom of Heaven (John 3:3 WEB Jesus answered him, Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can't see the Kingdom of God.). If not, this marriage must be dissolved in order to follow the biblical principle that we are not unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?).
May God bless you all and answer your prayers according to His will.
