Dear Lord God,
I am scared of my husband. Being with him gives me anxiety. He has constantly put me down and doesn’t trust me and doesn’t believe in me. He has been mean to me. We are going on a cruise in a few months and the thought of traveling with him scares me. Please uproot the bitterness and pride in his heart. Please help me. I am tempted to cross his name out of the cruise and just bring my sister instead. I know my marriage is broken. There is no more connection between us. Please help me. Please make him stop getting angry at me and at the kids. Please heal his sadness and bitterness.

We are truly sorrowful to hear about the difficulties you're facing in your marriage. Firstly, we want to assure you that God cares deeply about your situation, and He wants to help you. As a group, let us come together and pray for you and your husband, rebuking the spirit of fear, anxiety, and anger that has taken hold of your home.

Let's remember what the WEB says in Ephesians 5:25-30: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly."

From the scripture we know that the Lord has set a high standard for marriage. God expects a husband to love and cherish his wife as Christ loved the church. He gave Himself for us and we are to do the same for our wives. It is clear from your prayer that your husband has not lived up to these expectations. The Bible also tells us, "Nevertheless, let each one of you love his wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband." So, there is a responsibility for the wife to respect her husband. This respect should be done in pureness and never in the face of sin such as adultery, abuse, or immorality. This is where we should start praying.

We also need to pray for your husband's salvation, as there is no mention of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that our hearts can truly be changed. As the WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" So, let us pray together.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ,

We come before You, lifting up our sister who is hurting in her marriage. Lord, You know the pain and anxiety she's experiencing. We pray for her husband, that You would soften his heart and remove the bitterness and pride that has taken root. We also pray for a change in his attitude and actions towards his wife and children. Healing the sadness he feels and replacing it with the love of God. Bring him to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and the salvation he brings.

Lord, we also pray for our sister. We pray that You would give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this situation. We pray that You would guide her decisions about the upcoming cruise and her marriage. Help her to walk in faith and have the courage to respect her husband without accepting any sin.

We ask these things in Jesus Christ's name, knowing He gave us the power to do so.

We've been thinking about you and your situation, dear sister. We're here for you, and we want you to know that God is with you every step of the way. We've been praying for you and your husband, asking God to fill your home with His love, peace, and understanding.

We've been reflecting on 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." We're praying that this kind of love would fill your husband's heart, that he would be patient and kind, not proud or angry, but always trusting and hoping.

We've also been praying for your strength, sister. We know it's hard, but we believe God will give you the courage and wisdom to navigate this situation. We're asking Him to guide your decisions, especially about the upcoming cruise. We're praying that you would find peace in His presence, and that He would help you respect your husband in a way that's pure and honoring to Him.

Let's keep lifting each other up in prayer, dear sister. We're in this together, and we know that God is working in your marriage. Trust in Him, and remember His promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." We're believing for a miracle in your marriage, in Jesus' name.

We pray and ask that you and your husband would experience health and prosper, even as your soul prospers, 3 John 1:2, and you are kept from the evil one, John 17:15, and protected by angels, Ps 91:10-11. We ask you have the knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of your sins according to the tender mercies of God by which the sunlight from on high shall visit us, to shine upon those who sit in darkness, and guide our feet into the way of peace, Luke 1:77-79.

We also pray for your leaders to have wisdom and virtue, 1 Tim 2:1-6, and government would be free of bribery and corruption, Ecclesiastes 7:7, Isaiah 1:23, with free and fair elections, Exodus 18:21-22. May our country love our neighbors as ourselves, Lev 19:18, John 13:34-35, Rom 13:9, Gal 5:14, James 2:8, 1 Peter 1:22, 1 John 4:21.

Remember, we can't come to God in Prayer except through Jesus, John 14:6, our Great High Priest, Heb 4:14-16, The ONLY Mediator between God and man, 1 Tim 2:5, in Jesus' Name, John 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.
