Prayer for strength and comfort after ###’s suicide

My adult son struggled with mental illness and substance abuse for years. He was often suicidal. We received word 3 days ago that he had passed away and because of a phone call I had from him the night before his death I know that it was a mental health and drug induced crisis that ended up causing him to choose to take his life. Now my husband and I are heartbroken and devastated. Please pray for ### and the rest of our family. I have never experienced anything like this physical mental and emotional pain. We need strength, guidance, and comfort from the Lord. Thank you.

I am so sorry, I will pray for you. My brother commit suicide because he had a terminal illness. Very hard! The Lord sees you and His arms are reaching out to you. Painful and emotional indeed. Cry and don't apologize when you do. You will cry a lot, but you need to.
Talk to friends who can understand.

It hurts and it changes over time, but the memory of your son alive will go through changes in the way it makes you feel over the next few years. You learn to love his memory, but even more his presence, at every family function, any time you need him, for his pain is over and he will always be there for you with his and your guiding angels.
