Let us join together in praying for your daughter and this young man, seeking God's will and His guidance in their lives.
We stand with you in asking for Jesus to help your daughter with God's self control over herself. We pray for her relationship with this young man, that it would be honoring to God and rooted in biblical principles. Remember John 7:24 says Do not judge by appearances, but judge with righteous judgment.
Remember, it is important for them to be equally yoked in their faith. Being equally yoked means that both individuals share a deep commitment to Jesus and align their lives with biblical values.
We pray for godly conflict resolution between them, as urged in Matthew 18:15. Yet if your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. This means conflicts should be handled face to face when an issue arises, communication is key to resolving reoccurring issues. Idle words and rumors should be ignored if a rumor is truly important God will reveal the issue to the person that needs to receive the message. But if the conflicts are caused by their relationship not being aligned with God's will, we pray for Jesus to reveal the issue and steps to resolve this discord. We pray for Jesus to give them the courage to listen and follow His direction.
We pray that this young man would indeed be a godly leader, following the example of Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve Mark 10:45. For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. As the spiritual leader he should stand firm against peer pressure and take the first steps to reestablish communication in a calm biblical manner. A godly leader will be a role model in living a pure life, letting his Peers know to respect his situation and his being disallowed to commit adultery or fornication. A godly Leader will be a role model and stand up for the sanctity of a couple's marriage or engagement. A godly leader will change the subject about the compatibility or attractiveness of another couple.
A godly leader should be described as what Matthew 19:5 says The two shall become one flesh'. So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. This person should be described as the best marriage partner one could ask for. This person should not be described as the other half of me, an ideal partner, or as the parents of my expected future children.
We also remember forgiveness may not be the first step but should be the goal. If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
We rebuke the enemy from enflaming small conflicts and creating chaos, as stated in James 4:7. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Finally, we ask that your daughter and this young man would find peace and safety in their relationship, growing together in faith and love. We remind them to learn from Proverbs 3:5 that states Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. We encourage you to lead your daughter spiritually by reading, praying and counseling her with the help of scripture. Psalm 112:1. Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in his commandments. Lead her to trust her boyfriend, fiance or husband if this relationship is aligned in God's will. Let us pray.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this daughter and this young man to You. Grant them the wisdom and discernment to navigate their relationship in a way that honors You 1 Corinthians 10:31. So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Guide them in resolving conflicts with humility and grace. Through Jesus may the young man be a godly leader and your daughter want to listen. May your daughter help him not nag him. Let them be warned of future issues to come from sins that they have forgiven. The relationship should not continue in certain areas without addressing sinful conflicts. Protect them from the enemy's schemes, and surround them with your love and peace in Jesus' name. Amen. If this is God's will then their relationship will prosper, but not necessarily if this is not in God's plan.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
