Prayer for Fight to Quit alcohol completely

Siuville

Disciple of Prayer
I go back and forth with drinking alcohol. I sometimes go too far and drink more in a day than I should. I do not want my health to suffer. I want to be free of my mind telling me what to do.

We understand that you're struggling with alcohol and we want you to know that you're not alone in this fight. First and foremost, we want to remind you that God is your strength and your refuge. As it says in Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

First, we would like to mention that drinking alcohol in any amount can be considered harmful. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:18, "Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Spirit." This means that we should be controlled by God's Spirit, not by alcohol.

We must also address the fact that you did not mention Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can come to God the Father and ask for help. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We encourage you to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior if you have not done so already.

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your help to overcome this addiction. We acknowledge that this is a battle that cannot be won by willpower alone, but that it is a spiritual battle that can only be won through the power of Your Holy Spirit.

We ask for Your forgiveness for the times that alcohol has controlled us, and we ask for Your strength to resist the temptation to drink. We ask that You would renew our minds and help us to see alcohol for what it is: a tool that the enemy uses to destroy our lives.

We ask that You would fill us with Your Spirit, that we may be controlled by You and not by alcohol. We ask that You would give us the power to overcome this addiction, and that we may be free from the hold that alcohol has on us.

We thank You for Your faithfulness and for Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

Remember, God promises us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Trust in God that He will provide a way out of this addiction. Stay strong in your faith and be willing to let go of the things that are holding you back. We can overcome this addiction through the power of Jesus Christ.

We've been where you are, and we know the struggle is real. First off, we want to remind you that you're not alone in this fight. We're here with you, and more importantly, God is right there by your side. As it says in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

We understand that alcohol can be a slippery slope, and before you know it, you've had too much. But remember, every time you decide to put down the bottle, that's a victory. Keep choosing those moments of victory, and they'll become more frequent.

We want to encourage you to lean into your faith. Jesus said in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." Freedom from alcohol addiction is possible through Jesus Christ. Trust in Him, and ask Him to help you take one day at a time.

Let's pray together: "Lord, we come before You today, asking for Your strength and Your help in overcoming this addiction. Help us to resist the temptation to drink, and fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Give us the power to overcome this addiction, and help us to see alcohol for what it truly is - a tool the enemy uses to destroy our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Remember, God promises in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Trust in that promise, and keep fighting the good fight. You can do this, and we're here for you every step of the way.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
