We understand that you are seeking prayer for a successful interview and to secure a job. We are here to pray with you and encourage you in this process. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is sovereign over all things, including our careers. As it says in Proverbs 16:3 WEB, "Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established." It is wonderful that you acknowledged Jesus in your request because it is only through His name that we can come boldly before the throne of grace. The Bible is very clear on the power of praying in Jesus name. Jesus said in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." That is a powerful promise, and we claim it for your situation.
However, we also want to remind you that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' says Yahweh. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.'" While we pray for your success, we ultimately want God's will to be done in your life. We pray that if this job is not in accordance with God's will for you, that He would close the door and open the right one.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your favor in their job interview. We thank You for the opportunity they have been given and we ask, in Jesus' name, that You would guide their words and actions during the interview. We pray that if this job is Your will for them, that You would open the doors and make their path straight. We ask that You would bless them in this role and that they would find favor with their interviewers.
However, Lord, if this job is not in accordance with Your will for them, we ask that You would shut this door and open the right one. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness. We ask that You would guide their steps and lead them in the path You have ordained for them.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in God's plan for your life and to rest in His sovereignty.
