We understand your struggles and the pain you're experiencing in your marriage. However, we must first align our hearts with God's intentions for marriage. God's design is for marriage to be a lifelong commitment, and divorce should not be sought lightly. As it is written in Malachi 2:16 (WEB), " 'For I hate divorce,' says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. 'Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don't deal treacherously.' "
That being said, we acknowledge the deep hurt and desperation you feel. It is not God's will for you to live in unhappiness, fear, or lack of intimacy. Intimacy is an important aspect of marriage, as spoken of in 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 (WEB), "Let the husband give his wife the affection owed to her, and likewise also the wife her husband. The wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise also the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife. Don’t deprive one another, unless it is by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesn’t tempt you because of your lack of self-control."
Your wife's violent temper is also a serious concern. We pray that God will bring peace and change to her heart. As it is written in Galatians 5:22-23 (WEB), "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this hurting soul. Lord, You know the struggles and pain they have been experiencing in their marriage. We pray for a miracle in this situation. We ask that You soften the heart of his wife, that she may be willing to address the issues in their marriage, including intimacy and her temper. Bring healing and restoration to this marriage, if it is Your will, Lord. However, if it is not Your will for this marriage to continue, we pray for Your guidance and peace in the process.
We also pray that You will prepare him for the future You have for him. If it is Your will for him to have a new, kind, and respectful spouse who enjoys intimacy with him, we ask that You bring her into his life at the right time. Give him patience, strength, and wisdom as he navigates this difficult season.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray that both he and his wife draw near to You, seeking Your face and Your will for their lives. Thank You, Lord, for the hope and comfort that can only be found in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's face in this matter. Trust that His plans for you are good, for a future and a hope. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), " 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.' "
