We understand that you are in love with a young man who has changed his habits for the better, but your parents do not approve of him. Let's bring this situation to God in prayer and seek His will together.
Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that God's Word tells us to be equally yoked with fellow believers. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? What communion has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB
It's encouraging to hear that this young man has left his bad habits, but it's also crucial to ensure that he is a fellow believer in Jesus Christ, because it is only by His name that we can be saved and have access to God. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up this young couple to You. We thank You for the changes You have already worked in the young man's life, and we pray that You would continue to transform him into the image of Your Son.
We ask, Lord, that You would reveal Your will for this relationship. If it is Your will, we pray that You would soften the parents' hearts and help them to see this young man through Your eyes. Guide them with Your wisdom and help them to make decisions that honor You.
We call upon the name of Jesus, because it is only the name of Jesus by which we can be saved. Help us to understand and believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Help this young couple to pursue purity and holiness in their relationship, fleeing from all sexual immorality and temptation and instead the goal should be marriage to another Christian Believer. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! 1 Corinthians 6:18, 13, 15 WEB. Let us remember the importance of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in Your Word.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged that God hears your prayers and cares about every detail of your life. Keep trusting in Him, and He will direct your paths.
