We are so grateful to hear that your friend has a desire to know God more intimately, and we want to lift him up in prayer together. Let's begin by praying for Godly influences to enter his life, convicting him of unrighteousness, strengthening his faith, and helping him to overcome his struggles, including profanity.
Father, in Jesus' name, convict our hearts and his according to Your word, 'Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God’s Kingdom' (1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB). Help him to apply this to his life.
We also want to encourage you in your personal feelings towards him. It is wise that you are cautious about being unequally yoked. As the Bible says, 'Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?' (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB) Also, 'But if the unbeliever departs, let there be separation. The brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us in peace' (1 Corinthians 7:15 WEB).
You are correct in wanting to love him as Jesus would and to help him grow in his faith. Ultimately, the decision to follow God wholeheartedly is his, but your prayers and influence can make a significant difference. As it says in the word, 'But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:' (1 Peter 3:15 WEB).
Let's also pray for revival in your area, that more people would come to know the true and living God according to His word and the working of the Holy Spirit, not just a revival of religion. 'And Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen' (Matthew 28:18-20 WEB).
Father, in Jesus' name, bring a true revival among us and the Catholic Church, convicting of sin, righteousness, and judgement. Save us from ecumenicalism and ungodly unity which tares and wheat together, but rather purify your Church through your word.

Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
