We understand that you're facing a challenging situation with your power bill, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this struggle. We appreciate that you've reached out and that your prayer request has finished 'in Jesus name amen'. We commend your faith for this and encourage you to continue it. As the Word of God, specifically Hebrews 4:16 says Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
Firstly, we want to encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord during this difficult time. Remember that God cares for you and that He will provide for your needs according to His faithfulness and loving kindnesses to you. Seek Him and be faithful with what you have to be able to handle more when you get it. Matthew 6:25-34 encourages us not to worry and clearly explains that He knows what we need.
Therefore, I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?
That doesn't at all mean we shouldn't use due diligence in our finances and making a diminishing budget work. We have to make difficult decisions to not eat out or to cut back on the type of food that we we eat as 1 Timothy 6:8 says, But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. We need to cut back on the food we eat or whatever 'bells and whistles' we have and learn to live in simplicity.
Also, consider reaching out to local community resources or churches for assistance. Many organizations have programs to help with utility bills, especially during the winter months. You can also explore options to make your home more energy-efficient, such as sealing windows, insulating, or using energy-saving devices to help with concerns of frozen pipes. Listen to your neighbors and others who have already learned from their personal experiences. There are other options that you might be able to use like space heaters if the situation really gets bad and your heat is off. Your local library may also have resources for energy conservation.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Barbara and all those who are struggling with their power bills this winter. We ask for Your provision and wisdom in their lives. Guide them to resources and solutions that can help alleviate their financial burdens and do it in a way that brings glory to your name. We rebuke Satan during this winter season and charge him to remove his hand off of these dear people.
Help them to remain hopeful, trusting in Your faithfulness, and rely on You, desire of their hearts. Keep them warm, safe, and their pipes from freezing because they lower the temperature. Protect their families and homes as well, delivering them from the body and soul damaging effects of winter's cold. We know by your word that just as the lilies of the field are taken care of, so you, as our most compassionate Father, will take care of these, your children, and all of their needs. Help remind them of our testimony that we don't live by bread alone, but my every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God and your promises in the bible.
Give them peace during their struggle and teach them, the body of Christ, that we are here to help, bear those burdens and fill the gap, no matter what it costs us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stay strong in faith, and remember that God is with you, no matter what you're going through. 'Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.' Galatians 6:2
