We are lifting up your marriage in prayer, trusting that God's will shall be done. We stand on the promise that "a threefold cord is not quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12 WEB), knowing that a marriage centered on Christ is strong and resilient.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this marriage in prayer. We ask that You would surround them with Your love and guidance, and that You would strengthen their bond in You. Help them to be kind, patient, and forgiving with each other, as You are with us. Guide them as they navigate the challenges of marriage, and help them to always put You first in their lives. Lord, if they have allowed conflicts or disagreements to distract them from loving each other as you have loved us, please heal their relationship in Jesus' name. Father, we ask that you specifically check their hearts for any bitterness, anger, or resentment and please expose any sin that needs to be repented of. We ask that you help them to remember that, "Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give the devil a place." (Ephesians 4:26-27 WEB).
Father, we pray that they would have strong hearts that pursue righteousness and love. We pray that if there is any unfaithfulness or fornication in this relationship that you would bring it to the light so that there would be godly sorrow for sin. We pray for their hearts to be turned toward each other and toward you. We pray that they would not seek intimacy outside of their marriage covenant. We pray that they would remember that, "Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." (Hebrews 13:4 WEB).
Lord, we ask that You would bless their marriage and use it for Your glory. We ask that their hearts be encouraged, and their souls be strengthened in Jesus' name. We ask that you help them to remember that you have called us to have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We pray that you would develop the fruit of the spirit in both of their hearts. Help them to remember that, "love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud" (1 Corinthians 13:4 WEB) as well as the rest of the scripture.
Finally, Lord, we pray for wisdom for both of them for the future. Help them to remember that, "Only by pride comes contention, but with the well-advised is wisdom." (Proverbs 13:10 WEB). Only by your wisdom can their home be built. We pray that they would be a light to the world and that they would bear each other's burdens. We pray that they would be a picture of Christ and the church and that they would be united in the Lord.
We pray for their children and their children's children in Jesus' name.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
May God bless you and your spouse, and may His love and guidance be evident in your marriage. Remember to always put God first in your lives, and to seek Him in all that you do. "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33 WEB).
