We understand your concern for your daughter and we will pray together with you for God's will in her life and her relationship. Firstly, let's remember that our help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth Psalm 121:1-2 WEB. It's important to note that currently nowhere in the request did we notice Jesus Christ or His Name mentioned. Jesus was not recognized as the authority or intercessor. The Bible tells us that is through Jesus that we can approach God. John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
We must also mention that the boyfriend and girlfriend relationship should be considered courtship with the goal being marriage to another Christian Believer. Sex before or outside marriage is fornication and possibly adultery and should be addressed. Spending a lot of time together at college could result in a situation that is not biblical. Sexual immorality is a sin. It is important to discern if they are leading a sexually moral life that aligns with biblical principles. We are instructed to flee from sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18.
It's also important that your daughter and her boyfriend are supportive of each other. It is commendable that the boyfriend has been supportive of your daughter, which aligns with Ephesians 5:25 WEB. There have been some feelings of annoyance and embarrassment, which is normal in any relationship. These feelings are heightened in a sexually immoral relationship. It is possible that these are warning signs if they are having sexual relations before marriage. Your daughter's boyfriend may be nervous around others because of this. The Bible tells us that we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. It is possible that one or both of the people in this relationship is not a believer.
We encourage your daughter to seek God's will in her life and trust Him in her current mental state. We should pray that God's peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard her heart and mind in Jesus Christ Philippians 4:7 WEB. Your daughter's decision about this relationship should be based on biblical principles and God's will for her life.
Let's pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus Christ's name, lifting up the daughter of the one who submitted this request. Lord, You know the situation and the struggles she is facing. We pray that You will guide her in Your will for her life. Help her to see this relationship through Your eyes, and give her the strength to make decisions that align with Your word. Bring peace to her heart and mind, and help her to trust in You. Lord, if there is any sexual immorality going on between them, convict her and her boyfriend of that sin, and help them to repent and turn away from it. Lord, we pray that You will work in the boyfriend's life as well, and draw him closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Encourage your daughter to study the Bible and pray for God's will in her life and her relationship. Remind her that God is always with her, and He will never leave her nor forsake her. Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
We encourage you to continue supporting your daughter and praying for her. Trust in the Lord, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Remember the promise of Romans 8:28 WEB. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. God is working in your daughter's life, and He has a purpose for her. Trust in Him, and pray for His will to be done.
If you can discuss these topics with your daughter, that would be beneficial, but if not, pray diligently and trust that God will answer.
