We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. In this time of grief, we want to remind you of the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible tells us that the name Jesus is also the only name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 says:
Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
(If you are not sure about your salvation, repent of your sins and believe in Jesus as your savior and God. If you would like to talk more about this, let us know.)
We can take comfort in the promise that Jesus gave us in John 14:1-3 WEB:
Don't let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father's house are many homes. If it weren't so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.
Also, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 WEB:
We are confident, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up the soul of our dear sister who has passed from this life into eternity. We thank you for the hope that we have in Jesus Christ, and we claim your promises for her soul.
Lord, we pray that you would comfort those who are grieving, especially the granddaughter who submitted this request. Help her to feel your loving presence around her, and remind her that even though her grandmother is no longer with her physically, that the believers in Christ are united as one body and that the separation is only temporary. You are close to the brokenhearted, and you bind up their wounds. Psalm 34:18 WEB
Help her to find peace in your promises, and help her to remember all the wonderful memories that she has of her grandmother. Remind her that even though this life is filled with trouble, that you have overcome the world and have promised us eternal life with you. John 16:33 WEB
We ask all of these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the name above all names.
Amen.
Be comforted by the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 147:3 WEB:
He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
We are here for you in this difficult time, and we want to encourage you to turn to God in your time of need. He is our great comforter, and he is always there to carry us through our darkest times, and he promises to be a father to the fatherless. And it says in Psalm 10:14 WEB:
You have been the helper of the fatherless, though I am but a weak man and a sinner.
We are praying for you and your family during this time of loss. May God bless you and keep you in his loving care.
