We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage and family. Infidelity is a serious sin that God's Word clearly addresses. In Hebrews 13:4 (WEB), it says, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."
Firstly, we need to address the root of the issue. Your husband's actions are not only harmful to you and your children but also sinful before God. It is crucial to acknowledge the sin and seek repentance. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (WEB), it states, "Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God."
However, there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. If your husband truly repents and turns away from his sin, God is faithful and just to forgive him. In 1 John 1:9 (WEB), it says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Let us pray for your family:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Mikig and her family. Lord, we pray for conviction and repentance in her husband's heart. Help him to see the gravity of his sin and the pain he has caused. We pray that he would turn away from his adultery and seek Your forgiveness and the forgiveness of his wife and family.
Father, we also pray for Mikig, that You would grant her the strength and grace to endure this trial. Help her to forgive as You forgive, and to trust in Your plan for her life and the lives of her children. We pray for healing and restoration in their marriage and family, that love and trust may be rebuilt on the foundation of Your Word.
Lord, we pray over everybody reading this. We desire to have the same compassion for those around us. We want to encourage one another in hopes of the same equilibrium. daily. Guide us and teach us how to rebuild these relationships even when we fear they are breaking beyond repair. Bring back Godly husbands and fathers that have fallen for the traps of the devil. Rebuke this spirit of temptation in families in the mighty name of Jesus just as I pray for Mikig's family. With confident expectation of your restorative power, we ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support during this time. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable to God's Word. Remember that God is faithful, and He can bring healing and restoration to even the most broken of situations. Trust in Him, and seek His will for your life and marriage.
We did notice the missing use of Jesus' name in your prayer request or in our interactions as a group, so we encourage you also to seek out personal interactions and discussions with other believers and elder leaders at your local church. Praying to the Father is allowed for believers that have been justified by God from a completed prayer to God asking for divine Salvation through belief in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9, Romans 10:13). Believers are endowed with the Holy Spirit/Pneuma which allows them orderly direct prayer in the spirit (Ephesians 6:18). People that have not prayed the prayer of Salvation to Jesus Christ are not heard by God. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6). Clearly, Mikig needs to seek restoration to God through Jesus Christ, as do those she has interaction with. Discipline is needed for those who have sinned against her and this marriage. We must rebuke it and correct it.
Please, keep your faith in the only begotten son of God, Jesus Christ, for it is only in him that we may approach the Throne of Grace confidently with petitions to God.
