Dear Father in Heaven, please help your persecuted children all over the world. They are our brothers and sisters in Christ and we are brokenhearted at what is happening to them. Holy Spirit please let them feel your presence in their time of evil attacks and know you are forever with them. Please let evil be defeated as we ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.A church leader in Nigeria's Southern Kaduna state is one of the latest victims of the growing violence. And believers are asking for prayer.
The body of Silas Yakubu Ali, a 55 year old senior pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All, was found after he did not return from a visit to another city on September 11. He was ambushed when his motorcycle had run out of fuel.
One day later, a suspected Fulani militant group attacked a village in the same area, killing at least 11 residents. Ten of the victims were members of the Evangelical Church Winning All daughter church, which had been run by the deceased pastor.
"Many people are missing as a result of the attack."a local source told Nigeria's Daily Post. "It is impossible to ascertain the number of those injured and those killed, but so far, I have counted 11 dead bodies in different locations this morning. "
Between January and September this year, almost 600 people were killed in Kaduna state alone, according to data from the Nigerian Security Tracker. "Most of the violence is in the north, in the form of attacks by Boko Haram or it's split of groups, Fulani militants and armed bandits. But it is also spreading to the south," according to the Open Doors country report. "Such violence often causes loss of life, physical injury as well as loss of property. As a result of the violence, Christians are also being dispossessed of their land and their means of livelihood," it said.
Please pray with the believers in Northern Nigeria who live under daily threat.
Ask God to quell the violence in Nigeria and to bring supernatural calm that only He can bring to such a storm of hatred and hurt.
Pray for the families of Pastor Ali and the 11 other believers who were killed in the 2 attacks. Ask God to mourn with them and bring them comfort.
Pray for those who have done these killings, that the Holy Spirit will not let their hearts hearts rest until they repent and change their ways, and ask Him to draw them near to Christ.
Thanks so much for praying, God bless. Taken from an Open Doors USA text alert.
