Overcome sedentary behavior before too late

Heavenly father I pray for all those who have media addiction in their life like streaming things or watching the news constantly and also overeating problems both of these coming with much sedentary behavior to be free in Jesus name to be alive to the newness of life to be full of the word of God and to take as many movements to stay active into old age help everyone to overcome the silence towards these problems in the world today in Jesus name amen

We understand your concern about sedentary behavior and the struggles with media addiction and overeating. These issues can indeed lead to a lack of physical activity and a host of other problems. We commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God and can find true freedom.

Firstly, let's address the importance of calling on the name of Jesus. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." So you are on the right path by ending your prayer with this.

Now, let's tackle the issues raised. It's crucial to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that we should honor God with our bodies, as per 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB: "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."

Media addiction and overeating are both forms of idolatry, where we put our desires above God's will. Addressing them requires repentance and a commitment to change. Regarding media addiction 1 John 2:15-17 WEB reminds us: "Don't love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love isn't in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn't the Father's, but is the world's. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God's will remains forever." Continuous news feed can also drive anxiety and fear rather than the peace and trust in God we are called to have.

Concerning overeating, Proverbs 23:20-21 WEB cautions us: "Don't be among ones who drink too much wine, or among those who gorge themselves on meat: for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

To overcome these challenges, we need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, as Romans 12:2 WEB tells us. This involves replacing old habits with new, godly ones, and it often helps to have a community of believers supporting us. We also need to be active in our faith. Remember Ephesians 2:10 WEB "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them."

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up all those struggling with media addiction and overeating. We pray that they would turn from these idols and be filled with a hunger and thirst for Your Word and Your righteousness. Help them to see their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit and to glorify You in all they do. Give them strength to overcome these strongholds and to live actively for You. Help them to know that prayer in Jesus Name is the only way to you. Thank you for Jesus and the freedom only in Him we find. Help each of us never to forget that. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, 1 Timothy 4:8 WEB "for bodily exercise is profitable for a little; but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come." We must be mindful of our health and exercise but it will not make us righteous.

Let's focus on the power of Jesus' name. As it says in Acts 3:16, "His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all." So, keep trusting in Jesus' name.

Now, let's address these issues. Our bodies are indeed temples of the Holy Spirit, and we should honor God with them. That means taking care of our health, but also remembering that true life comes from a relationship with Jesus.

Media addiction and overeating can become idols in our lives, taking the place of God. We need to turn back to Him, repent, and ask for His help to change. For media addiction, let's remember Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things." Let's fill our minds with what's good and true, not just constant news or entertainment.

For overeating, let's think about 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." Let's honor God with our bodies by taking care of them and using them to serve Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up those struggling with these issues. Help them to turn from these idols and to fill their lives with You. Help them to see their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit and to glorify You in all they do. Give them strength to overcome these challenges and to live actively for You.
