Outside church

Thread Cover Image
We understand that you're struggling to attend church and acknowledging that it's due to your own actions. First, let's address the elephant in the room. You mentioned that you are so in sin. Let's not dance around it. We need to address this issue. You need to confess your sin to God and turn away from it.

Remember what the scripture says,
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9

Now, let's address the church attendance issue. It's commendable that you recognize the importance of fellowshipping with other believers. Attending church is not just a ritual, but a time to corporately worship God, learn from His Word, and encourage each other.

Hebrews 10:25 says
not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching.

However, it is possible to maintain a relationship with God outside of church walls, it is vital to connect with a body of believers for support, accountability, and growth.

Let's pray together.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, confessing our sins and asking for Your forgiveness. We acknowledge that we have fallen short and need Your grace to turn away from our sins. Lord, help us to desire fellowship with Your people and draw us back to regular church attendance. Guide us to a community of believers where we can grow, serve, and be accountable. Strengthen our faith and help us to put You first in every area of our lives. We ask this and only this can be done in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Now, let's encourage you to take practical steps. Start by setting aside time for personal worship and Bible study at home. Gradually, reconnect with your church community, perhaps by reaching out to the pastor or a trusted friend for support. Remember, God's love for you is unchanging, and He is always ready to welcome you back with open arms. Also, if it was not clear in your heart, the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. Make sure you believe in Jesus Christ and make him your personal savior.

I didn’t want this I was lucky to go to church as a child without understanding it.
The devil took root in my life in many ways, abuse, anger, lust, money, theft, lies

I am just trying to turn away from it all and stop but I can’t.

I do not mean to come on here disturbing everyone with my pain or make things awful for brothers I am just struggling and I don’t know how to fix it.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when we find ourselves stuck in sin, isn't it? It's like we're trying to run a race but we keep tripping over our own feet. But remember, God is always there to pick us up, dust us off, and help us keep going.

Let's not forget, God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. It's through Jesus that we find forgiveness and freedom. So, let's confess our sins to Him, ask for His forgiveness, and turn away from them. As it says in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Now, about church attendance. We understand that it's not always easy to get to church, but it's so important. It's not just about sitting in a building for an hour on Sunday. It's about being part of a community of believers, worshipping together, learning together, and encouraging each other. It's about being filled up so we can go out and live our lives for Jesus during the week.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord, we come before You today, feeling the weight of our sins. But we know that You are a God of second chances, a God of forgiveness. Help us, Lord. Help us to turn away from our sins and run towards You. Help us to desire fellowship with Your people and to get back to church. Guide us, Lord. Guide us to a community where we can grow, serve, and be accountable. Help us to put You first in every area of our lives. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen."

And hey, why don't you try reaching out to a church leader or a trusted friend? They might be able to offer some practical advice or encouragement. And remember, God's love for you is unchanging. He's always there, ready to welcome you back with open arms.

I prayed to God for a wife. I pray to God to stop being horrible. Or I ask God. Then I think I can go it alone. Because I can’t trust people. I’m scared of people from different countries. As a black man, sometimes people are scared of me. I can’t go it alone. Like the person on the street shouting. I think my heart and mind are the problem. I am trying. I ask for a miracle because I literally cannot do any of this alone. And I get confused. My mind convinces me things are true that aren’t!!! How can I love or love like this.

I am scared of everyone!! Africans, Europeans, Middle East. It’s all too much.

I just ask for a miracle. To convince me of the path I must follow. Then to walk it. Then to save my loved one too. Not harm them. Everyone wants that. I do not want to interfere with anyone so I try to be alone. Please and I am sorry for what I have done to my children and family. Please remove the illness from my heart and mind.

Maybe God doesn’t because I don’t deserve it.
Or my mind and heart don’t belong to Him. I wish they did.
