We are truly sorry to hear about your situation and we are here to intercede and offer biblical guidance.
Firstly, let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved parent and their child who is struggling with addiction. Lord, you know the pain and heartache they are experiencing, and we ask for Your divine intervention. Break the chains of addiction, Lord, and set this child free. Grant them a miracle, and guide them to resources and people who can support them in their journey to recovery. Strengthen their faith and remind them of Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Addiction is a powerful stronghold, but we are reminded in Galatians 5:1 WEB:
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
It is only through the power of Jesus Christ that we can be made free from the bonds of sin and addiction therefore we continue to pray. Remember, God is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20 WEB).
We encourage you to surround your child with godly influences and to seek support from your local church community. Professional Christian counseling can also be a great resource during this time. Remember, God is with you and your family, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 WEB).
Continue to pray fervently. We are told in James 5:16 WEB,
Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.
Prayer for your child's deliverance from alcohol and drugs should be your main priority. Trust that with the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit working in their lives, and by the name of Jesus Christ, they will be set free.
