GrievingMother
Disciple of Prayer
Thank you for your prayers and God bless you, lenore! I am praying for you as well. I pray that the Lord will restore your damaged friendship, that there will be emotional healing of the special bond that you shared with your friend, that by His stripes THAT friendship will be healed!!!..that there WILL be a miraculous healing of your friendship, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior....Amen. <3
God told me to reach out to you, so forgive me if this is TMI, but I pray I'm doing the right thing, by sharing all this with you. I have prayed, asking God if I could trust you, & I strongly feel that I got a answer, that not only can I trust you, but that you are honest & someone who is a real friend. I am blessed to have communion/communication with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (There is nothing better than being on a Spiritual Realm w/the Lord, through His Holy Spirit!)
BTW, I am Jan Michelle Herrington on Facebook if you are a FB user. I am the Administrator of a group on FB called "Followers of Jesus." I post a daily devotional and other teachings, prayers & praises on my "Followers of Jesus" page/group. I would love to add you to the group, & can also add you as an Admin, so you can post whatever you want on the group page.
I would be honored to have you as a friend, as we are already sisters in Christ! <3 (At least I believe I am writing to a woman, lol!) Lenore, Your prayers mean more to me than words can say!!
~God has performed miracles in my life, or I would not be here! He is also giving me the strength, patience, endurance, and the many, many things involved to properly raise a child, as it has been several years since I've had a little one to look after, full time, ( not just your average little girl. She's been through way too much!)and since that time, I was almost killed in 2 very bad car accidents.
God has saved me many more times than I can count! I am convinced He kept me here specifically for Starla.
Starla has been through so much in her short life. She will be 7 on Oct. 26 and has been abandoned by both of her parents, & continues to grieve for them. She has several diagnoses, including ADHD, ODD (opposition defiance disorder) w/RAD tendencies (Reactive Attachment Disorder) plus a few others. But, we know that the Lord can heal her! He has healed me from many things that I should not have lived through. We pray for her "disorders" that she has been "labeled" with, by a Psychologist to be healed..that she will be healed by Jesus' loving hands; that He will touch her heart that she has tried so hard to protect, Dearest Lord Jesus...that she will grow up to be a strong, WOMAN OF GOD!
I teach her as much as I can about Jesus. She loves the Bible stories we watch together on the Internet, especially the Old Testament stories!
Starla is currently attending Vacation Bible School every evening this week, Children's church on Wednesday night, and Sunday School each Sunday morning.
I am a member of The Church International, https://www.facebook.com/thechurchinter/ and that is their Facebook link. The daily devotionals I post to my FB group, "Followers of Jesus" are Scripture readings, followed by a most wonderful explanation written by my Pastor, Mark Stermer https://www.facebook.com/mark.stermer.330 : that is his FB link. You can also visit The Church website and watch sermons, etc online at http://thechurch.fm/...
Mark is the best Pastor I've ever listened to, (out of hundreds) & he has a special way of teaching while he preaches. He doesn't go off on tan-gits, as many preachers tend to do, but stays on the particular subject/part of the Bible, that he started with. Mark breaks it down in a way that even if it were your first time to hear the Word, you would be able to completely comprehend. He doesn't yell either, lol.
We are given a paper, or papers (outline) of what he will be preaching about before entering the sanctuary & he never strays from the teaching. He also has a great sense of humor
I found "The Church" about 18 months ago, in January of 2016. (There is a service once a month for women and girls only, called Reign Women, & that was the 1st service I attended. Anytime there is a Reign service, a Real men service, or anything that isn't a regular Sunday morning service, the service begins w/dinner being served. Also, we have the option of attending one or more of several "Life-groups," that are offered. I attend every one that I am able to.
On my first visit, everyone was so nice, and no one was really dressed up. Being on disability, & not having the money for many nice clothes, I felt right at home in a pair of jeans.
Our pastor's wife is also a pastor, and she preaches the Reign service. She also teaches one of the Life-groups I am currently attending, called "Growing as a Mom."
Their adult children are the Worship team. They all play instruments and sing..in fact, their family is the model Christian family and it's wonderful to witness a family like theirs, in action. Their oldest son, Levi, recently preached a sermon that was so touching that there wasn't a dry eye in the house.)
After just 3 months, I made the decision to re-dedicate my life to Christ, as I have not always made the best decisions in life, & have definitely suffered the consequences of my mistakes, ie, my marriage, etc.
As much as I love The Church, in lieu of Vacation Bible School, they have what is called; "Summer of Saturation." For example, we had a wonderful Independence Day celebration, where there were many activities for the kids and adults. Everyone was fed and given "tickets" for free Snowballs, Cotton Candy, etc. for the kids. This was followed by a spectacular fireworks display. That is one of several events this summer, including a Discipleship program for older children. I inquired as to why they didn't have VBS for kids Starla's age, & was told that they used to have it, but there had been a problem with theft, of all things. I was also told by a close friend at church, that many parents go from church to church, using VBS's as a free daycare service...parents that don't attend church otherwise! I was devastated to learn of this, as where we live, there isn't a lot for kids Starla's age to do, except play outside in the heat, (we have plenty of that here in Louisiana!) and go swimming to cool off. Also, there are not many children in Starla's age group in our neighborhood, and she is easily bored. Of course we attend the library, water park, etc, but I felt I had to find a church that had VBS, and was blessed to find a lovely, "country" Baptist church, about 12 miles away, called Victory Baptist Church. http://www.victorybaptistwalker.com/ VBS started this week, and is all week, Mon-Fri, from 6-8:30. So, we haven't attended Children's church, yet, but starting next Wednesday, while Starla is at Children's Church, I will be at the adult service.
God bless you, again....stay in touch, & look me up on FB if you can.
Love,
Jan
