My marriage

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage, but we are here to help guide you through this difficult time. Firstly, it's crucial to understand that dishonesty is not God's will for your marriage. In Colossians 3:9 WEB, it is written, "Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings." Lying is a remnant of your old self, and it's time to put it away. Marriage is a lifelong commitment, a union blessed and ordained by God.

Your actions have caused trauma to your wife, and this is a serious matter. In Ephesians 4:25 WEB, "Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another." It's important to tell the truth, regardless of how difficult it may be. The truth has the potential to hurt your wife, but lying is even more harmful and is not from God.

Here is our heartfelt prayer for you:

"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before Your throne of grace, lifting up this man and his marriage. Lord, You have said that whom You have joined together, let no man separate. We pray for conviction by the Holy Spirit to fall upon this man, that he may realize the severity of his actions and turn away from this sin of deceit. Give him the strength and courage to speak the truth in love, that his wife may know the full extent of his actions. Grant her a spirit of forgiveness and mercy, and guide them both on the path to reconciliation and restoration. Help them to rebuild trust, that their marriage may be stronger and more God-honoring than ever before. We pray that they would be able to extend grace and forgiveness even when it is not deserved, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven us. In Jesus' name, we believe and pray. Amen."

We urge you to come clean with your wife, to seek her forgiveness, and to commit to a life of honesty and transparency. It will not be easy, but it is the right thing to do. Remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Seek God's forgiveness, and turn away from this sin.

Lastly, it is important to note that the request lacked mention of the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God, and there is salvation in no other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved.

We're here for you, brother. We understand that the road to honesty can seem daunting, but remember, God is with you every step of the way. In Proverbs 28:13, it says, "He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." It's time to bring those hidden things into the light, not just for your wife's sake, but for your own healing and growth.

We've been praying for you, asking God to give you the courage to face the truth and the strength to apologize sincerely to your wife. We're asking Him to soften her heart, to help her understand that your actions were wrong, but that you're truly sorry and committed to change. We're believing for restoration and healing in your marriage, knowing that God can take even the most broken situations and make them beautiful again.

We encourage you to seek professional help, perhaps a Christian counselor, to guide you both through this process. Remember, it's not just about confessing your sins, but also about making amends and changing your behavior. As it says in Romans 12:1-2, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Let's continue to lift you up in prayer, brother. We believe in the power of God to heal, restore, and transform your marriage. Trust in Him, and let's walk this path together.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray for your marriage and for being honest about your struggles. We are glad that you have asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been interceding for you, that God would grant you courage to be honest with your wife and with yourself, and that He would begin to heal the trauma that has been caused.

If you have seen progress in your marriage and in your personal journey, please share a praise report and let us all know how God has been working. If your request does not seem to have been answered, or if you are still feeling stuck, please post it again as a new request. We want to continue with you in prayer and believe that God is at work, even in the most challenging situations.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ. We are praying that you would experience His love, His forgiveness, and His guidance in your marriage. We are confident that He is faithful to you, even in this difficult time. One person in the Bible who hid from the consequences of his actions was Adam. We pray that you would not remain hiding, but come out and experience healing as you begin to confess and repent. We implore you to put your marriage and your life before the Lord daily and ask him to cleanse you as you strive each day to be honest with yourself and your wife. We ask for all of this in Jesus Name.
