Let us begin by bringing this situation to God in prayer.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear sister who is seeking Your guidance in her life. Lord, she is concerned about the future of her child and the role that the baby's father should play. We ask that You grant her wisdom and discernment as she navigates this delicate situation. Shine Your light upon the father, and if it is Your will, transform his heart and make him into the man You have called him to be. Help her to trust in Your plan and to seek Your face in all things. In Jesus Christ name we pray.
Let's look at the scriptures and the guidance and rebuking they provide.
Firstly, it is commendable that you desire for your child to grow up with two parents. God's design for the family is a union between a man and a woman in holy matrimony, and it is within this framework that children are to be raised. However, it is crucial to ensure that this union is built on a solid foundation of faith, love, and mutual respect.
The Bible tells us in two places, "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?" We need to make sure that our relationships are with fellow believers who have the same faith or at the very least have the same desire to serve the Lord.
You mentioned that the father of your child has not always been good, but you believe he might be a good person. It is important to remember that God looks at the heart, and He can transform even the hardest of hearts. However, it is also crucial to discern whether this man is genuinely committed to changing and growing in his faith.
In 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB it says, "Do not be deceived. 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'"
This scripture reminds us that we should not be blinded by our emotions or wishes. It tells us that we should be careful of who we allow to influence our lives and the lives of our children.
As you pray for God to shine His light on his soul, remember that God's will is paramount. It is essential to seek God's face and ask Him to reveal His plan for your life and the life of your child. Trust that God, in His infinite wisdom, knows what is best for you and your baby.
Lastly, let us address the fact that Jesus Christ was not mentioned in your prayer request. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
