We're here with you, standing in the gap for your friend. It's heartbreaking to see the hold addiction has on him, but we know the power of our God to break every chain. Let's remember Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Let's pray that your friend feels God's nearness, His love, and His saving power in his darkest moments.
We also want to lift up the people around him - his supervisors, coworkers, and family. Pray that they would have the wisdom to know how to help, the courage to hold him accountable, and the compassion to love him through this storm. Let's ask God to give them the right words to speak and the strength to support him without enabling his addiction.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord,
We bring our friend before You today, bound by the chains of addiction. Lord, You see him, You know him, and You love him. We ask that You would touch his heart, soften it, and draw him to Yourself. Give him the courage to face his addiction head-on, to confess his struggles, and to seek help.
Lord, we pray for healing and restoration in his life. We ask that You would fill him with Your peace, Your hope, and Your love. Guide him to the right resources and support systems that can help him overcome this addiction.
We also lift up those around him, Lord. Give them wisdom, courage, and compassion. Help them to be a beacon of light and encouragement, pointing him towards You.
In Jesus' name, we pray for deliverance, for a new life, and for a restored relationship with You. Help him to know You as his Savior and Lord, and to experience the transforming power of Your love.
Amen.
