Mutual Understanding.

I love my brother. We are currently rebuilding our relationship and I am trying. My brother doesn't understand my situation with my former GF and I. We have a daughter together and our daughter will turn 18 next week. I haven't seen her since she was a baby because my ex has parentally alienated her from my life. My brother doesn't understand that the situation isn't entirely my fault and that my ex and I are both to blame. I want my brother to understand that and LISTEN to my side of the story than pass judgement on me. I respect my brother's opinion even though I don't always agree with it but I listen to what he has to say. My brother and I haven't discussed my daughter for 18 years and that has hindered our relationship. He has tried to warn me about how Family Court is, I wasn't in the situation nor place to listen because I had to go through that on my own.
Right now, I want my brother to listen to me and stop listening to others. He had been married and was a Stepfather. I am a Father and that is different. I want my brother to hear what I have to say and not judge me for what happened.
