In Jesus' name, Amen!**What motivates you to obey God? For that matter, what motivates you to talk to God?

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
- 1 John 4:18 -
Worldly men fight sin through fear of punishment; Godly men fight sin through their faith in Love." - C444 -
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him
- 1 John 4:16 -
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
- Romans 13:8 -
The old testament was written for people who had fallen. The new testament is written for people who are rising. -C444-
In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away
- Hebrews 8:13 -
So what had changed?
Hebrews 8:8-10
8. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
The new covenant is not etched in stone but in our hearts. Our love for God is our check and balance system. It is what motivates us to obey, not fear or selfish rewards. We obey because we Love!
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.

Love is our motivational factor!
Note: the fear if God refers to deep reverence and not being deathly afraid of God. You cannot truely love someone when you are afraid of that person.
