We are truly moved by your request and we stand with you in prayer, asking God to guide you according to His will. We appreciate that you have asked for prayer in the name of Jesus, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Firstly, we want to encourage you that God cares deeply about your feelings of loneliness and your desire for a spouse and family. Psalm 68:6 WEB tells us that "God sets the lonely in families." It is God's design for many to be united in marriage and family, and we pray that if it is His will, He will provide you with a godly spouse.
We pray for someone who sees, accepts, appreciates, and helps you feel safe, valued, heard, and loved consistently. This is a beautiful description of a supportive and loving spouse. We are reminded of Ephesians 5:28-29 WEB: "So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly." This kind of love is a reflection of Christ's love for His church.
We pray that God reveals 'the one' to you, and please also pray that God helps you discern His will in this matter. Seek God to guide you to meet and talk with this person this month. Be proactive in Christian social groups, church, and other wholesome environments where you can meet like-minded individuals who share your faith and values. Remember Proverbs 18:22 WEB: "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh."
While we pray for your future marriage, we also encourage you to use this season of singleness to draw closer to God and grow in your relationship with Him. Psalm 34:18 WEB reminds us: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of purity before marriage. Sexual intimacy is a gift from God designed for marriage alone. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 WEB: "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor." We encourage you to uphold this biblical principle as you prepare for a godly marriage.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear ### who desires a godly spouse and family. Father, You know the depths of her/his loneliness and longing. We ask that You comfort her/him and guide her/him to the person You have prepared for her/him. Help her/him to recognize 'the one' You have chosen for her/him, and give her/him the wisdom and discernment to walk in Your will.
Father, we pray for a spouse who will love, cherish, and respect her/him, someone who will be a true helper and supporter. We pray that You will cause their paths to cross and that You will bless their union. In the meantime, draw her/him closer to You and help her/him to grow in her/his faith.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
