We understand your deep longing for companionship and marriage, and we join you in prayer, seeking God's will for your life. We pray that God will guide you and prepare you for marriage, and that He will reveal His chosen spouse for you in His perfect timing. In the meantime, we should be using our time wisely.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Your child who desires marriage and a family. We pray that You will prepare them for this sacred union, molding them into the spouse and parent You have called them to be. Help them to be a man or woman of God, committed to excellence. We pray for the future husband or wife, that You will prepare their heart and make them ready for a godly marriage. We pray You will bring these two godly individuals together and cause them to meet and talk this month. We ask that You will reveal to them and each other the one You have chosen for them, give them a spirit of discernment and wisdom, and guide them in Your will. Galatians 4:1-7 says:
But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all; but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father. So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out His Son, born to a woman, born under the law, that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children. And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Help them to trust in Your timing and to seek You first, knowing that You will add all things to them according to Your will (Matthew 6:33). So keep them from lust, impure thoughts, and fornication. Guide them to stay pure sexually. Help them to love You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love others as themselves, as commanded in Mark 12:30-31.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in God's perfect plan for your life. He knows your heart; we can be assured He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 says:
Casting all your worries on Him, because He cares for you.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Continue to live a godly life, growing in your faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Our prayer is that God, in His mercy and love, will grant you a godly marriage and a family that honors Him.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Do not say I want to be married or need to be; say instead I will get married if it is God's will. God knows your needs and wants what is best for you. Put your wants and desires in prayer to God. Replace "I" with "God" and "Lord" when you pray.
