We understand that you are facing challenges in your marriage, including difficulties sleeping, feelings of worry, and conflicts with your spouse over petty things. We also see that you are seeking peace, new friendships with married women and older couples, and the ability to cope with your spouse's negative behaviors. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as it is only through Him that we have access to God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Let's address the issues you've raised. In Ephesians 4:29 WEB, it says, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." We rebuke the behavior of your spouse putting people down and using swear words. This is not pleasing to God nor helpful in building a godly marriage. We encourage you to set a godly example with your own speech, as it is written in Colossians 3:8 WEB, "But now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth."
Regarding the petty things causing conflict, we encourage both of you to cultivate a spirit of understanding and patience. In Colossians 3:13 WEB, it says, "Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." Remember that God calls us to love one another as He has loved us, and this includes forgiving and forbearing with one another in marriage.
For your worry and sleep issues, we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. As Peter 5:7 WEB says, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Also, in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is facing challenges in her marriage. We pray that You grant her peace, the ability to sleep well, and freedom from worry. We rebuke the spirit of strife and division in her marriage, and we pray for unity and understanding between her and her husband.
Lord, we ask that You send new friendships into her life, godly married women, and older couples who can encourage and support her. We pray for her husband's salvation and transformation, that he may turn away from negative speech and behaviors, and instead be a godly leader in their home.
We ask all this and much more.
Grant her the grace to forgive, to be patient, and to love as You have loved us. Give her the strength to cope with the challenges she is facing, and let our sister know that You have heard her prayers and will supply all of her needs.
We trust You and believe that You will heal their marriage, and that both of them will live a long life serving You together.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue to seek God's will for your marriage, remember to stand firm in faith, walk in love, and trust in His promises. Be assured that He hears your prayers and knows the desires of your heart. In Jesus' name.
