Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns with us. We understand that you're seeking prayer and guidance for your future marriage and for the right spouse who loves God. We appreciate your request and your desire to honor God in your relationships.
Firstly, let's address the issue of divorce. In Malachi 2:16 (WEB), God says, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel." Divorce is not God's ideal will. However, we serve a God of restoration and redemption. Your past does not dictate your future. Trust in God's forgiveness and His ability to bring healing and restoration to your life.
Now, regarding your future, it's commendable that you're seeking a godly spouse and are committed to purity before marriage. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 (WEB), it says, "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who has gone through the pain of divorce. We pray for healing, restoration, and a new beginning for him/her. We rebuke any curse of failure and declare that he/she is a new creation in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away and all things have become new.
Lord, we pray for his/her future spouse, that they would also be a lover of God and committed to purity before marriage. Guide them both in Your will and help them to make wise decisions that honor You.
Finally, Lord, we pray that our brother/sister would not be anxious about the future. Remind him/her that You have a good, pleasing, and perfect will for his/her life. Give him/her peace and assurance that You are working everything out for his/her good.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB), "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Trust in the Lord, and be patient. God's timing is perfect, and He is faithful to those who wait on Him. Be careful not to rush ahead of God's leading in your life.
