Lying lips an abomination to the Lord.

Many of us do not know the meaning of a lie or lying.
According to Bible dictionary, the meaning is to practice deceit, falsehood, and treachery either by word or action. It is the exact opposite of truth.
Much to the church’s shame, many Christians continue to give in to the temptation to lie their way through life.

What does God think of this?
"Thou shall not lie" is one of the ten commandments, but even Christians have trouble with this commandment.

In John 8:44 Jesus says about the liars:
You belong to your father, the devil.
So when we lie we are yielding to the clutches of the devil.

There are many verses in Bible in which God says He hates lying and LIARS.
I just quote a few.

Proverbs 6:19
There are six things that the Lord hates,....
........a lying tonque .......

Proverb 12:22
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,

Psalm 5:6
You destroy those who lies.

Revelation 21:8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and ALL LIARS their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

Many of us think that casual lies are not a sin. God hates even that.

(But in some situations God forgives.
Eg: after marriage if a husband / wife asks about an affair before marriage, one cannot say the truth as it MAY spoil the peace between the couple.)

So I just want to say that we should not fall a prey to devil who is a liar from the beginning. Genesis 3:4

All liers will end up in hell. All we have to do for them is to fast and pray before the Lord so all liers will repent and come to Jesus for salvation of their souls. No liers will inherit the kingdom of God. That is so true. Please Jesus, save the souls of all liers we see and hear around us. In Jesus name. Amen
