As it says in 2 Corinthians, our hope is not in our physical body. Jesus wants us to focus on the eternal things, the unseen things. Not our temporary bodies or physical appearance.

James 4:3 says, "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

The verse "ask and you will receive" is not meant for asking anything for our selfish desires. It is meant to mean that if we ask anything that aligns with God's will (not a selfish prayer), then God will do it. Your prayer does not align with God's will because you are asking for worldly beauty.
