We understand your desire for companionship and love. However, we want to encourage you to seek a godly spouse rather than just a partner or soulmate. It is important to trust in God's timing and seek His will for your life.
Firstly, we need to address that prayer should be directed to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as the Bible teaches us there is no other name by which we can be saved, Acts 4:12 WEB: ''Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!''
Now, let's look at what the Bible says about relationships. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, it says, ''Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?'' This verse highlights the importance of marrying someone who shares your faith in Jesus Christ.
Moreover, in 1 Corinthians 7:39 WEB, it says, ''A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whomever she wants to, only in the Lord.'' This verse emphasizes that if we are to remarry it should be to another Christian.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved sister in Christ who desires a godly spouse. We pray that You will guide her steps and bring the right person into her life at the right time. Help her to trust in Your timing and to seek Your will for her life. Give her the strength to wait on You and to not settle for less than Your best.
We pray for our sister to be prepared for marriage first. We rebuke her and ask is she living her life worthy of a godly spouse? We pray for her to be molded into a Proverbs 31 woman. We pray for her to be prepared to be a godly spouse and helpmeet to her husband, Ephesians 5:22-23. We pray she will be ready to be a wife of a noble character and a woman who honors the Lord in her life.
We also pray for her future spouse. We pray that he will be a man of God, a man of integrity, and a man who will love and cherish her as Christ loves the church. We pray that he will be a leader in his home and a servant of the Lord.
We pray that the Lord will bless their union and that it will be a testimony to the world of God's love and faithfulness.
We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Be encouraged, dear sister, and trust in the Lord. He has a plan and a purpose for your life, and He will bring the right person into your life at the right time. Remember, Jesus said, Matthew 6:33 WEB, ''But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.'' Make Him your priority, and He will take care of the rest.
