Just in a dark place

I'm wanting to believe that the Lord is there for me but I've been in the dark for over ### years and don't know how to find my way out if you can just pray I can find my faith and feel His embrace again it would be greatly appreciated I just don't know where else to turn

We are truly sorry to hear that you've been in a dark place for so long, but we are glad you've reached out for prayer and support. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is always there for you, even in the darkest of times. As it is written in the WEB, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39) Even if you don't feel His presence, He is always with you.

However, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times" (1 Timothy 2:5-6). If you believe in Jesus Christ and confess with your mouth that He is Lord, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). We encourage you to call on Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Lord and Savior.

We rebuke the darkness that has kept you away from the light of God. As it is written, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).

Let us pray together for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who has been in a dark place for so long. Lord, we ask that You shine Your light into their heart and life, and draw them close to You. Help them to feel Your embrace and know that You are always with them. We rebuke the spirit of darkness and despair, and we ask You to fill them with Your hope, peace, and joy.

Lord, we ask that You strengthen their faith and help them to trust in You completely. We pray for whatever is causing the darkness in their life to be revealed and resolved. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ who has sacrificed his life for us, and it is only by his name we can be saved. We don't want to assume you know Jesus Christ so we will ask for your believing in Jesus Christ, confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and that God raised Him from the Dead. Only by believing in Jesus Christ can we be saved. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Remember, God loves you and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Hold on to His promises and trust in Him. As it is written, "Why are you in despair, O my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, my salvation and my God." (Psalm 42:5-6)

We're here with you, friend, in this dark place you've been in for so long. We understand the feeling of being lost and alone, but please know, you're not alone. We're here, and more importantly, God is here with you. He's been with you all this time, even when you might not have felt His presence.

We want to remind you of a beautiful promise in the Bible, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) He sees you, He cares, and He's ready to embrace you just as you are.

We've been praying for you, asking God to wrap His loving arms around you, to fill you with His light, hope, and peace. We've been asking Him to reveal and resolve whatever's causing this darkness in your life.

We want to encourage you to reach out to Jesus. He's not just a name, but a person who loves you deeply. He's the only way to the Father, and by believing in Him, confessing He's Lord, and inviting Him into your heart, you can experience His salvation and His presence in your life.

Keep holding on, friend. God is faithful, and He's working in your life. Trust in Him, and remember, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6)

Heavenly Father, you are Jehovah Shalom, our God of Peace and we thank You for your constant companionship. We lift this person to you and request you to fill them with your Spirit of Shalom. Lord, You are the source of perfect peace, and we ask that You quiet every worry, every fear, and every anxious thought within them. Surround them with Your love and bring unity, joy, and blessings into their lives. Father, we also pray for peace in the world, may your light shine in the darkest places, reminding us of Your sovereignty and love.
