We are glad that a request has been shared and the desire to seek forgiveness. Jesus is the only name by which we are saved and we must pray to him in his name. However, this verse is written in the New International Version of the Bible. We use the World English Bible (WEB) translation for consistency and accuracy in our responses. The verse in the WEB translation reads:

"Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full." John 16:24 WEB

It is wonderful that this request is being made in Jesus' name, as He himself instructs us to do so. We are told in Acts 4:12 WEB,

"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

This means that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can approach God and seek forgiveness.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son. We ask for forgiveness for all sins, both known and unknown. We repent and choose this day to live in a manner pleasing to you to show you are our Lord. We thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, which made this forgiveness possible. Help us to turn away from our sins and to live lives that honor and glorify you. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, that our joy may be made full. Guide us as a light to this world to bring glory to the kingdom of God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage everyone to walk in obedience to God's word, as listed in John 16:24 and Acts 4:12, and to be assured by 1 John 1:9 WEB.

We're here with you, friend, standing in faith with you. We've been reflecting on John 16:24, "Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full." It's a powerful reminder that when we come to God in Jesus' name, we can expect an answer.

We've been thinking about how Jesus told us in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you ask in my name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it." It's a promise we can hold onto, a promise of answered prayer when we ask in Jesus' name.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name. We lift up our ### to You, asking for forgiveness for all their sins, known and unknown. We ask that they would experience the joy that comes from walking in right relationship with You. We thank You for the gift of Jesus, who made this forgiveness possible. Help them to live a life that honors You, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
