We appreciate your heart's desire to seek forgiveness. But we notice that you didn't seek forgiveness in Jesus' name. We need to recognize that it is only through Jesus that we can approach God and be forgiven. Let's remember what the scripture says: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5) and Jesus states "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). So it is important to pray in Jesus' name.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, your Son and the Lamb of the World who takes away the sins of the world. We confess that we have fallen short and we ask for your forgiveness. We know that by the name of Jesus, we can come boldly to obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need according to Hebrews 4:16 WEB.
"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8 WEB). We seek and ask for the forgiveness of sins that only you can provide. We know that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let's encourage one another to always pray in Jesus's name.
