We are grieved to hear about the struggle with addiction that Jocelyn and Scott are facing, but we are encouraged that you have reached out for prayer in Jesus' name. Addiction is a form of bondage, and God's will is for us to be free indeed.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Jocelyn and Scott, who are battling addiction. We know that Your heart is for them to be free, for You have said, "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB).
Father, we ask that You would strengthen their spirits and provide godly convictions. "Create in them clean hearts, O God. Renew a right spirit within them" (Psalm 51:10). Help them to turn away from their destructive habits and be renewed day by day.
We also ask that You would give them wisdom and discernment. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 WEB). Help them to understand the root of their addiction and to seek Your will above their own desires.
Surround them with a supportive community, Father. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn't have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB). Help them to find accountability and support within Your Body, the Church.
Lastly, Father, we ask that You would protect their marriage and use this trial to strengthen their bond. "For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will be joined to his wife. And they will be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24 WEB). Help them to cling to one another and to You throughout this process.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for Jocelyn and Scott and to support them in their walk with Christ. Remember, God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Keep trusting in Him, and He will see you through.
