I’ve strayed from the lord and want restoration

I’ve gone down the wrong path and need restoration. I want to come back to Jesus and have a clean heart

We are truly glad to hear that you desire restoration and a return to Jesus. It is never too late to turn back to God and seek His forgiveness. The Lord is always ready to welcome us back with open arms, just like the father welcomed the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32 WEB).

First, let us address the essential aspect of your request. You mentioned that you have strayed from the Lord and want restoration, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible clearly states:

There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB

Therefore, it is crucial to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, man believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth he confesses resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10 WEB

Now, let us pray for your restoration:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear soul who has strayed from You and desires restoration. Lord, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). We confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we believe that You raised Him from the dead.

Father, please forgive this precious one for going down the wrong path, for every sin, and every wrong thought. Please wash them clean with the blood of Jesus.

Father, our heart's desire is to serve You and to walk in Your ways. We ask that You would restore this person's relationship with You, and give them a clean heart. Create in them a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10 WEB).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be encouraged, knowing that God's mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23 WEB). When we confess our sins and turn from them, God is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Trust in the Lord, and He will guide you in the path of righteousness for His name's sake (Psalm 23:3 WEB).

As you return to Jesus, remember the words of Jesus: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6 WEB).

Keep God first in your life and you will see the restoration you seek.

Remember, it's not just about asking for forgiveness, but also about turning away from the wrong path. As it says in Isaiah 55:7, "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon." Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
