How is it pssible to refrain from it though? They are your parents, so whatever they are doing, you are doing too?It is wrong for anyone to make anyone feel less than they are. Yet, you must forgive. First for your good health and salvation. Secondly, because we are all human and prone to errors, so we need to forgive and overlook as much as possible.
Some parents may not know better, some are too emotional (and that's not on you) or they may not understand the impact of their words. Regardless of the motivation, you must not do wrong because they are wrong. You must maintain respect at all times and do your bit as their child.
If you have the opportunity, try and express (communicate) your pain at these words but without anger or resentment.
It is also best that you keep in mind that if certain behaviours cause others to sin (including your parents), then as a Christian and for the sake of Christ, you should also try and refrain from those behaviours.
The Lord will give you grace and comfort you.
It's simply Grace. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we are more likely to get through/overcome our struggles than those who don't know Christ. We all struggle, which is why forgiveness is key.How is it pssible to refrain from it though? They are your parents, so whatever they are doing, you are doing too?
